aim: 

to produce an artist’s book with the potential of making a larger edition at low cost. this may be created in hard copy or be an online publication. ensure that costs are kept down by planning layouts and, if used, employing the most economical use of paper and copying methods.

to start the project, i spent time researching the best ways to reduce cost for printing, including using black and white printing, small standard book sizes, and a basic saddle stitch for binding. i wanted to create playful illustrations relating to colours of the rainbow, challenging the book's monochromatic palette. the illustrations briefly touch on contemporary issues of the time, such as COVID and politics.
