semester two

my work this semester expands on the use of miniaturisation as a method for controlling spaces and bodies. my series of precise, small scale paintings of intimate interior scenes toe the line into surrealism through the addition of absurd and out of place details. these details, along with the shared peachy-pink under paintings, define the scenes as manufactured, controlled environments exuding a discreetly unsettling atmosphere. this is enhanced by the contrastingly large body of an uncanny oversized fabric doll that overlooks their display.
