semester one
this semester i used the process of miniaturization to exert control over spaces and figures. i created atmospheric models of delicate nostalgic and domestic spaces using found objects. within these seemingly sweet spaces, i explored problems associated with the idyllic home and family using varied perspectives, pink underpaintings, and discreetly uncanny imagery in my compact scenes. i explored the complex nature of the home and its family dynamics experienced by women, where it can at once be a sanctuary and oppressor; an environment for female figures to exert control within and be controlled by.
